Not only is the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) known for pretty much as the home of all the classic franchises of Nintendo but for being possibly one of the most successful and best consoles of all times. With various companies such as CAPCOM, SQUARE SOFT, KONAMI and much more making their debuts with famous franchises such as Mega Man, Contra, Final Fantasy which later in the future lived on to make even better games. Contained many accessories such as the Zapper, a light gun that could be used for rail shooters available for the NES library. It was later succeeded to by the Super Nintendo. It is very hard to make a Top Ten out of the NES library mostly because there are so many good classics on this amazing console... Not to say there isn't any bad games on this console, oh trust me, there is A LOT of bad games and some that aren't even licenced which is rare considering the whole un-licenced thing lived and died with the Atari era! And talking about the Atari, yes i do consider Atari to be a classic but always for me the NES will be my first video game console in history.
The Zapper was pretty much one of the first accessories of the many I will probably not talk about for the NES, it is pretty recognized for being necessary for one of the most famous games on the NES which is Duck Hunt. It was pretty much is known as simply THE GUN, because that’s basically what it is… A gun. It used some sort of light technology that when the screen flashed when you pressed the trigger it would flash and detect for a little second whenever or not you got it. I will mark every game that needs it with a shinaz star like this “ “.

GOOD WORK! BUT YOU FORGOT BABY MOSES! I don’t know where to begin, for instence I could transform this game of a really bad game into one of a very silly commentary on how religion is boring and coming for us in form of video games going “WOULD YOU LIKE TO FIND JESUS ON YOUR NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM”. And many people have already commented on this game on how wacky and bad it is but I’ll give a try to give it my entry. The game features 3 games and each one is supposed to be a bible story, each game is amazingly broken and off the charts crazy, the game is bugging
as hell and most of the time you’ll see once in a life time acurrances of the game flipping out but anyways the goal of the first game is to put all the animals into the ark, finding such animals is confusing and silly because Noah can carry them all above hes head and walk so fast across the screen. Now that’s what I call blast possessioning! The other game has to do with carrying a baby moses and about everything is out to kill you, platforming is obnoxiously horrible and most of the time it seems as if the platforms of bellow follow you in a glitering effect which makes my eyes hurt. You can simply throw off baby moses to explore the level without the fuss but YOU FORGOT BABY MOSES. Last game mode is a bit inpossible to beat in my opinion, attacking is useless and goes above every enemies head, there’s a mountain part I went though the game and couldn’t pass due to the sliperry platforms and rocks flying from the sky to crush me, that’s a really big issue with the entire game: Slippery jumping, other than that a main issue is the tendency of stealing MANY MANY elements from Super Mario Bros 2 with it’s grabbing and other level design things.

A very interesting game for the NES, full of quirkiness and strange charming, as a plus that animation, transitions and graphics in general are really GOOD! At first it could be seen as a very normal shoot ‘em up game (I don’t know why you would see that but) but it’s not! It’s probably one of the most surreal shoot ‘em ups out there… Now that I think about it, surreal wouldn’t really be the correct artistic term for it, it’s more Dadaist in sense with all the random objects it has here and there, the game can get really random and at least it is shows effort with it, there are various enemies to fight in the game including candles, gas tanks, propane tanks, smiley faces, various other random objects and odd symbols or marks that can fly. What is really enjoyable about this game is that it’s FAIR, most games on the console are really unfair ESPECIALLY shoot ‘em ups but this one is really easy to keep playing and not be stressed, it does get harder but even if you lose all your life you have unlimited continues, getting points for a 1up is really quick and easy not only because the score you need to get a 1up is short but because there are quite allot of extra obstacles inside the game you can shoot for bonus items. Weapons are also one of the main things that make this game pretty easy, most of the weapons can clear the entire screen with their marvelous abilities, and you have 5 weapons to choose from by shooting balls with numbers inside them. Some power ups are cheaper than the others making the game have a big variety of how to play, other than that you have the ability to change bombs as well, labeled as letters inside balls, for example: The F-bomb! Which sadly isn’t that good, but somewhat useful for boss fights. There are quite allot of boss fights in the game, in between the level, at the last part or even in the beginning. Music is a bit minimalistic compared to some other games that use the full potential of the chip but has allot of rhythm and tries to be something else rather than simple action music at some parts. It can also be really silly and sometimes. There is also a shop before starting each level with a really anime looking girl selling you products in a normal looking shop, you will find sacks of money during the levels here and there but I’m not pretty sure why the shop is necessary, mostly everything you find in the shop you can get during the game for free.
The game is just full of variation, variation of styles of levels, variation of enemies and basically of everything!

Players: Now this is a game I’m talking about, this game is balls to the walls extreme like it’s really pretty good, the game’s goal is to eliminate enemies throughout the universe and for me this game is basically what if Galaga was somewhat 3D, the game may start a bit slow at first but later on gets better, the graphics of the game are REALLY huge, things are really visible yet it seems as if you can’t really tell if something is coming closer at times which is strange. You control your ship in a 360 degrees screen where things are attacking from every direction and depending on getting some power ups you can have double shot or not that will help you eliminate enemies easier. The music is AMAZING, like it’s right there being one of the most complex songs I’ve listened on the NES, even though they are just remixes of classical songs based around Bach and possibly one of the main reasons I get so hype while playing this game.
Obviously worth the try when this is being one of my favorite simple shoot ‘em ups on the NES.
